o say that Anthem has been a failure would be an understatement. Bioware, already in a fall from grace due to the shortcomings of Mass Effect: Andromeda, went into a downward spiral earlier this year when the much anticipated looter-shooter Anthem was met with nearly universal disdain from both critics and audiences across its multi-platform release.

While Bioware and EA have been trying to breathe some life into the game over various quality of life patches, and more recently the Cataclysm event, Anthem has been on the ropes with steadily declining player numbers monthly. Now comes the move by the publisher to bring Anthem to both EA Access and Origin Access.
The two programs are subscription services, with the former being offered to console players and the latter being offered to PC players, which give subscribers access to a large catalog of games from beloved titles from better years to the not-so-great ones:
If you’re an EA Access or Origin Access subscriber all you need to do is start your download and soon you’ll be able to soar through the air and unleash your power in the Ranger, Interceptor, Colossus, or Storm javelins. These incredible armored suits, your skills, and your raw courage are all that stand between humanity and the many dangers of the beautiful but deadly world of Anthem.

Time will tell if this will help Anthem get back in the game, or if it’s only delaying the inevitable by putting it on life support with an influx of new players. Will you be one of the players heading into Anthem through one of the access programs? Are you already an Anthem player from the retail or digital download versions? Let us know down below, and let us know if you think Bioware can ever recover from the last couple years of missteps.
