The Swedish company Quixel by Teddy Bergsman and Waqar Azim is now a subsidiary of Epic Games (Infinity Blade, Fortnite, Rocket League). Specializing in the photogrammetry of many elements for video games or animation films, it will now put its library of assets (more than 10,000 3D elements) in free access, while improving it with the latest version of the Unreal Engine graphics engine. Note that Bridge, Asset Manager and Mixer, a tool for creating materials, will gradually become free from next year , knowing that the subscription to Megascans will suffer a price drop. Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, is proud of this new acquisition: "By partnering with Quixel to make Megascans free with the Unreal Engine, we are making this level of artistic talent available to AAA game developers as well as freelancers. Designing 3D photorealistic content is very expensive, both in game development and film production. "
